Video Tutorial: Improve Your Compositions Skills
Welcome to my weekly video series! In my experience, one of the most difficult things about compositions is learning what not to include in a photo. It’s very easy to get caught up in the beautiful of the scene before us and I know there’s many people out there like me that suffer from wideangleitus. In this video, I help you to identify the subject of a scene as well as distracting, competing and supporting elements. By practicing this simple process on photos you have already taken, it will allow you to visualize your compositions better in the field and learn which elements to include and exclude from your photo.
If you find this video helpful, be sure to share it with your friends! Also, I always happy to answer questions and appreciate any feedback you have so be sure to leave a comment! Thanks for watching!

Fun On A Rope
I took a ropes course class in Sedona a few months ago. I learned quite a bit about the uses of different knots, building anchors, belaying and rappelling which will come in handy in the near future. I’m quite looking forward to the weather warming up this spring so I can get into some nice slot in the Grand Canyon area this year.

Oak Creek
Just a quick post for today. This is a shot I took at Red Rock State Park in Sedona. Since there hadn’t been much rain, the creek wasn’t running very fast. This made a very peaceful spot to sit and listen to the water. Have a great weekend!

Downstream
I love little scenes like this. When I look at pictures like this I can visualize all my stresses floating gently downstream away from me. Being in a place like this is even more peaceful with the gentle sound of water running through the rocks. This was shot near Red Rock State Park in Sedona, Arizona. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Double Take
Here’s a shot of Cathedral Rock in Sedona during sunset. I was a bit late arriving on the scene as it would have been nice to catch this shot a bit earlier while the cottonwood trees in the foreground were let but sometimes you can’t have everything. I am not sure what it is about Cathedral Rock except for the fact that it calls to me. I look forward to seeing some snow at this spot soon!
