The Twisted Tree

Happy Monday!

I had a great weekend getting caught up on, well, everything. It is absolutely incredible how many photos I still have unprocessed – I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get through all of them. I’m looking forward to a long weekend coming up and a short week next week. The only question is – where to shoot this weekend? :)

Recently we took a trip out to Canyon De Chelly and I have to say that I was WAY more impressed with this place than I thought I was going to be. The only unfortunate part is that you have to get a guide or go with a tour in order to get access to some of the places in the lower canyon. After visiting this place, it’s definitely going to be on my list. Today, I give you a simple shot of this twisted looking tree that I found interesting. Hope you enjoy it!

Canyon De Chelly

Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: Tokina 11-16mm
Processing: Photomatix Pro 4, Adobe Lightroom 3, Photoshop CS5, Topaz Adjust

Awesome shot Jason. I love tree photograph and this one is indeed an interesting twisted tree! I’ve noticed that you’re loving the Tokina 11-16mm. I can’t wait to try it out using Borrowed lenses in a few weeks for my trip to Florida! :)

I like how the clouds seem to extend off of the tree in this shot. Nice capture, Jason.
    That tree is wicked. :-)

Nice wide angle-goodness. I used to own the Tokina 11-16 before I got a full frame camera, and I loved it. You made good use of it here.

There are so many lonely junipers in the Southwest just begging for a portrait. Nicely done!
