The Virgin River

June 13, 2012 by Jason Hines

I came across this scene while hiking near the Virgin River in Zion. As I stepped off the trail and headed towards this area I was met by another photographer coming back from shooting the same thing. He said to me “there’s really no need to bother, there’s not much color here”. I said thank you for the head up but decided to have a look anyways. I really have no idea what he was talking about. While the area was in the afternoon shade and was not as colorful as it may have been with some reflected light, there was still some beautiful color to be found in this area. I was pretty happy with the image I ended up with. Always remember, it’s what you think that matters.
