Wagon Wheel

April 26, 2011 by Jason Hines

Hello everyone! Thank you for all your awesome comments while I was away, I really appreciate it!

It’s been a busy few days over the weekend. We left early Saturday morning and just got back last night around 9pm. Along the way we shot in Monument Valley, Natural Bridges National Park, Lake Powell, Canyon De Chelly and MANY various locations along the way. I cannot wait to process these images and share them with you but that will have to wait until after I’ve gotten some sleep :) .

Today’s image is a simple one that I took on the way to Prescott not long ago. This wagon was left abandoned not far from some old time looking shops and I couldn’t resist stopping. I really love shooting on partly cloudy days like this – I just love the contrast with blue sky next to the clouds. I hope you like it!

Love the dynamic range in this one Jason, very clean processing too. Wonderful natural colors, an outstanding shot

  2. Love the isolation and the “this is my valley” feeling that you’ve created with this image. Beautifully processed, Jason!

Great shot. Love the processing and comp!

  4. Great comp. Has a very ‘wide open plains’ feel to it. Something I’m quite used to. :)

  5. Nice job Jason. Love the sky in this.

Really like this wagon and image. But I hope someone cares and preserves the wagon.

Love the simplicity and the shadow of the wagon… Looks like a scene from Dances With Wolves :)

I can decide which I like more the clouds or the wagon, pretty awesome Jason.

It amazes me how many random things people abandon. Then there are things like this. Maybe they knew someone would come along to get some shots of it.

    Looks great!

  10. Awesome composition! What a perfect day for HDR.

    Great job!

Lovely photo that reminds me of those old westerns I used to watch growing up. The red wheels are the icing on the cake. Kudos!
